For the last 100 years the United States has slipped first slowly and recently faster and faster into socialism. Look all around you:
• Federal government regulations, which impact every aspect of your daily life
• Federal deficits and taxes (some used to control the states)
• Washington overstepping its constitutional responsibilities and dictating to States what they can and cannot do
• Courts which redefine the constitution and law, not interpreting it
• Public employees being uninionised
• Unions and other groups getting tax payers money, they then use to get more tax payers money
• An expanded welfare state, which keeps recipient in slave like conditions, with no chance of betterment
• Property rights being trampled on
• Laws and money being used to favor certain individuals, companies or political agendas, thus negating the Rule of Law
• Federal Department of Education
• Department of Energy, but not allowing us to use our own energy resources
• By not drilling for our own oil, but buying some from Saudi Arabia, financing Al Qaida
• Political correctness, which only purpose is to limit our freedom of speech
• Unrelenting and consistent attack on the Christian faith, while demanding understanding of any other religion or ethnic group
• Outlawing profiling to keep our borders and streets safe
• Forcing social experiments unto our military, to make it less effective
• Trying to undermine our military at any possible occasion
• Misusing filibuster
• Using Federal regulations to interfere in the free market
The list of grievances goes on, and I am sure I left many out. But until we as the people demand from Washington to sign a new Declaration of Independence from Socialism, abolish the 17th Amendment, thus giving the States as seat back at the table in Washington and dismantling most of the Washington bureaucracy, we will not regain our freedoms as guaranteed by our Founding Fathers through our Constitution. There is no need for a new Constitution as many ask for, we just need to follow the best political system as laid out in our constitution in the true meaning of the Founders, and we will continue to be the shining city on the hill.
